We visited the international trade fair MEDICA.

This year we have been in our stand at the MEDICA fair held in Düsseldorf (Germany). MEDICA is the leading trade fair for the medical sector worldwide. Its high level of international influence and its reputation as a reference source of information in the field of medicine make this event the meeting point for the international medical industry.

The world’s largest event for the medical sector has been firmly established in the calendar of all experts for more than 40 years. MEDICA takes place simultaneously with COMPAMED, the high-tech trade fair for medical solutions.

The MEDICA fair brings together the global market for medical technology and medical products at the Düsseldorf fairgrounds. MEDICA continues on its international course and every year presents a wide range of exclusive innovations.

This year the fair has returned to normal after the previous pandemic years.

It has been a great opportunity to meet great professionals of the sector and to make ourselves known to the rest of the world.

The week of November 14 to November 17 we were able to exhibit our products in our stand and meet with many professionals in the sector.

We are pleased to inform you that last June 1st until Friday June 3rd we were present at the 32nd NATIONAL NURSING MANAGEMENT NURSES CONFERENCES this year were held in Toledo (Spain), better known as The Imperial City.

We shared experiences with the national health sector, sharing experiences, generating new learning, giving visibility to our products and, of course, we tried among all health sectors a stronger, more compact and at the same time closer health.

In our stand we were showing our medical-sanitary products, since they are of great help to the nursing sector at national level.

They were three intensive days of learning and sharing knowledge that help us to grow every day.

Thanks to all the health professionals who shared their time with us.

Calvo Izquierdo participate ANECORM 14

From October 27th to 29th, CALVO IZQUIERDO SL attended as an exhibitor to the 14 CONGRESS OF NURSING COORDINATION OF MATERIAL RESOURCES (ANECORM) in the city of Santiago de Compostela (A Coruña).

It was our first time as exhibitors at the congress and we find the experience very satisfied. Thank you for the entire congress organizing committee for their help and all the participants for coming to meet us, for dedicating their time and their comments. We hope to be able to participate in future editions since the feedback received has been very helpful.

In addition to our line of Vendari bandages, we were able to show other distributions that Calvo Izquierdo has, such as the WOODCAST brand of wooden splints and the MILLIKEN compression kits, which were very well received by the attendees.

The world’s largest event for the medical sector has been firmly established in the calendar of all experts for more than 40 years.

There are many reasons why MEDICA is so unique. Firstly, the event is the world’s largest medical trade fair: it attracts several thousand exhibitors from more than 50 countries in the pavilions. In addition, every year, leading individuals from the fields of business, research and politics participate in this top-level event, along with tens of thousands of national and international experts and decision-makers from the industry. MEDICA includes an extensive exhibition and an ambitious framework program, which together present the entire spectrum of innovations for ambulatory and clinical care.

And how could it be otherwise Calvo Izquierdo S.L. participated in this edition.

In the past days November 15,16,17,18 we have been at our stand, four days of full power, knowledge transfer and networking in the face-to-face format.

We are very happy with the results obtained. We hope that the next MEDICA 2022 will be as successful as this one has been.

We expand the production capacity

CALVO IZQUIERDO SL has been expanding its production capacity for months. This allows us to provide a better service to all our customers around the world.

Our objective has always been the same, to provide our clients with a high quality product at a competitive price.

For this expansion in the CALVO IZQUIERDO, S.L. through the line “Aid for investments to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of industrial SMEs in the sectors of the Comunitat Valenciana, within the third phase of implementation of the Strategic Plan of the Valencian industry for the year 2020″, convened by the CONSELLERIA DE CONOMINA SOSTENIBLE, SECTORS PRODUCTS, TRADE AND LABOUR” has received a grant of 40. 40,952.73 for the execution of the project “Expansion of the production capacity of the company Calvo Izquierdo, S.L.”.

New R&D project based on natural xerophytic plant extracts

CALVO IZQUIERDO, S.L. participates in the R&D project “PRONOS – R&D of new antimicrobial products based on natural extracts of xerophytic plants for prevention of nosocomial infections by cleaning surfaces and skin”, funded by the AVI and the European Union through the ERDF. This is a business value chain consolidation project, which started in February 2021 and will end in December 2022. In addition to CALVO IZQUIERDO, S.L., the companies VIVEROS CANÓS, S.L., ESPECIALIDADES FARMACÉUTICAS CENTRUM, S.A., ATQ QUIMYSER, S.L. and KOROTT, S.L. are also participating.

The main objective of the project is to investigate ingredients obtained from natural extracts of xerophytic (dry environment) plants with antimicrobial properties, for the development of surface cleaning and skin care products in the healthcare environment, which contribute to the prevention of nosocomial infections (hospital-acquired infections).

It is a health concern that the efficacy of the arsenal of biocidal substances is increasingly diminishing in the face of the growing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of the microorganisms responsible for infections. It is estimated that between 6 and 10% of patients admitted to a hospital may suffer a nosocomial infection. This problem changes the course of hospitalization and exposes the patient to new risk situations, increasing hospital morbidity and mortality, hospital stay and health care costs. Research in this field is now focusing on ingredients of natural origin, for two reasons: they have been shown to be effective against dangerous pathogens; and their renewable and biodegradable origin is environmentally friendly and compatible with people’s health.

As a result of the project, it is expected to create and consolidate a value chain for the manufacture of products with antimicrobial activity, based on active ingredients of natural origin. Thus, as a result of the project, it is expected to obtain products of natural origin for surface cleaning and skin care and hygiene, with antimicrobial activity for sanitary use in hospitals. Specifically, CALVO IZQUIERDO, S.L. expects to develop new bandages with antimicrobial finish for the prevention of infections in the sanitary field.

The project impacts the value chain of natural products with antimicrobial properties, from the study and selection of the species, to obtaining the functional active principles, through their stabilization and conservation, to their ultimate application in health products.
